Out-of-home advertising takes to the road

While trying to solve a mystery of when Shawn Spencer originally met the notorious Yang in the episode “Yang 3 in 2D” of the TV show “Psych,” Henry Spencer calls up his ex-wife Maddie to ask about a shirt that Shawn wore in childhood. The former detective notes that his son stopped wearing shirts with brand names on them after his ninth birthday. When Maddie asks why, Henry responds that Shawn “didn’t want to promote products without being paid for them.”

Advertising on trucks is more effective than using digital media. Such has been the experience of Neal Pecchenino, who started a mobile marketing and advertising firm in October 2017. Using his own money, Pecchenino started Boxi after working for a consumer electronics company where he was spending the company’s full advertising budget on digital media, mostly Facebook and Google.

Keep On Truckin’: Momentara Acquires Boxi To Enlarge OOH Reach

Out-of-home media company Momentara has acquired Boxi, a truck media company. Financial terms were not disclosed. The purchase allows AllOver’s truck ad division to enhance its offerings in the outdoor segment. Momentara services both corporate and government customers, from consumer-packaged goods to wine and spirits to the entertainment industry.
